About Jordan

Jordan Sourtchev was born on October 23, 1961 in Nessebar, Bulgaria where he was trained as traditional Artist, studying in some of the most prestigious European Art Schools. Jordan enrolled at The Bulgarian Kazanlak School of Fine Arts (1976-1981) and The V. Tarnovo University of Fine Arts (1984-1988) receiving a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts. There he absorbed the acute attention to form associated with Bulgarian art masters, subsequently refining his own visual and conceptual vocabulary that emerged through his focus on the points of intersection between surrealism, realism and hyperrealism.

Jordan's personality and later works are greatly influenced by his twenty eight years of living and studying in Bulgaria. During the early years of his carrier Jordan was inspired by the Art of Japan and the Art of the Dutch masters including the early impressionism in France. His love for details outlines the character of his style and gave him a nickname "Dr. Detail". He has combined his knowledge of traditional painting, drawing and picture making methods, with the technologies of today. It is a unique level of education and experience, not easily obtained, that he brings into each new assignment. He has been working and developing as an Artist ever since, creating a lot of fine art illustrations for magazines, newspapers and books.

In 1990, Jordan made his first trip to Iceland and his search for a deeper spiritual meaning eventually took him to the stark landscapes of the Hvannadalshnakur (a peak in the north-western rim of the volcano in Iceland and the highest point of the island) and from then on he strove to capture the spiritual essence of bold landforms of the planet. His first subject after arriving in United Kingdom was a series of Artwork that had brought him many International Awards.

During the period of 1993-2000 his work became very popular and established a solid private and corporate clientele. His work now can be seen in more than 80 countries and in more than 200 companies all over the world. Jordan's work was published and distributed by many companies in Europe and United States. His Art can be found in myriad of public and private art collections both in the United Kingdom and abroad and has been seen in numerous exhibitions worldwide. He is a versatile Artist also noted for his contributions to Tattoo Design, Web Design and Interior Design. Jordan currently lives and works in West London, just a short thirty minute train ride from Central London.
